I love my Haakaa. It’s an excellent product for any mama who leaks a ton while breastfeeding. And great for saving additional milk.Possible user errors: As long as you suction it successfully and keep your babies’ feet away while feeding (mine enjoys kicking it, which results in spills 20% of the time; I’ve learned to “catch it” as she kicks ), and BUY THE LID (though they should include it) and properly put the lid ON, you’ll be golden (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve knocked it with my elbow on the table next to me). It takes some thought to remember all this, but has gotten easier with my now 4-month old. I am much happier with my Haakaa instead of leaking 4oz onto me and my baby, too.
I don’t have enough good things to say about the Haakaa. I happened to be recommended this by a friend after suffering from severe engorgement. My electric pump was making everything worse and I was in so much pain. I will never look back and or use the electric pump again! It’s so lightweight and easy to use. Plus it’s to clean - forget cleaning 283627 pieces! It collects more milk than my electric pump did anyway. I let my babe nurse one side and collect from the other. It stays on wonderfully and fits right into my sani bag. I highly recommend for any breastfeeding mama. As a mom of two with limited time- I needed something I can do easily. This is it!
I am a mom of three and this is a fantastic baby item for a mom wanting to get more milk with no extra work. It suctions on really nicely and is way more gentle than an electric pump. As my baby feeds on one side milk will pour out into the manual pump on the other side. It's so much nicer getting the extra milk to use for a later date than pouring into a breastpad. At around 3 oz I do need to disconnect the haakaa and pour the milk into a bottle. It holds really well and can help pull the nipple out for breastfeeding. I have a one week old and plan to purchase another one just to leave in my diaper bag at all times. I am so thankful I bought this baby item as it truly works extremely well! It is super easy to pour into a bottle as the silicone conforms well for a nursing mom.
This product is amazing. When nursing on one side sometimes the other side "volunteers," wasting milk, and wasting clean, dry breastpads. This product solves that problem and is way easier to use and clean than fussing with a whole electric breastpump. Nursing and pumping needs are covered all at once. It is more comfortable than an electric pump and gets as much milk as putting it on lowest settings. A friend had less success with it.I reccommend handwashing this even though it says it can be put in dishwasher. It got discolored in the washer and doesnt look as clean now.I wish this product had a lid to prevent spills or dust getting in. Also, due to the physics of this product, you can only fill it to about 1/2 capacity so consider a larger size or keep a clean jar nearby.
This thing is AMAZING. My $300 pump can’t compete. I’m on my third baby and this breastfeeding experience has been very hard. I’ve had blocked ducts twice and am currently battling mastitis - and my daughter is only a month old today. She has a very shallow latch and pumping has felt rough this time around for some reason which makes it hard to pump more than an ounce in each breast sometimes. Don’t even get me started on the cleaning too - SO MANY PARTS. I was advised by a fellow mom to buy one of these when I was trying to find relief for mastitis and the first time I pumped 2.5oz in each one, then rinsed it out and BAM! Done! I’m buying another one already and replacing my pump completely. I wish I would’ve done this with every baby - it would’ve been a lot easier of an experience.
